Meet Stanley, my trusty steed.
In 2023 Stanley took me and my Jack Russell sidekick, Ruby, from Cheltenham all the way to the Lofoten Islands, inside the Arctic Circle in Norway. After an extensive tour of northern Norway we drove back down through Sweden, round the north and west coast of Denmark and back across Northern Europe for a very brief stop at home. After stocking up on essentials we headed up to Scotland’s Inner Hebrides then back to Europe, through France to the Dordogne and on to the Pyrenees. Once we’d had our fill of driving up and down Pyrenean mountain passes in first gear, we drove up the west coast of France, all the way back to Cheltenham for a week then set off for the north coast of Scotland to complete the NC500, with a very windy detour to the Orkney Islands.
I planned to write a blog while I was travelling but honestly, with all the driving, taking photos and just enjoying the absolutely incredible scenery, I didn’t have time. Maybe one day I’ll write a book but for now you can follow my photo diary @gunnroaming on instagram. There will be more adventures to come so watch this space.
